By using a prefabricated timber solution, together with pre-fabricated bathroom PODS, builders are able to bring our finishes trades in much earlier during the structure phase we compared to conventional concrete framed buildings. Additionally, a timber solution has the potential to cut down on structural cycle times, achieving an 8-day floor to floor cycle.
CLT is often used as the structural elements of the building, whilst timber framing for in-fill walls saves on material costs and are readily available from local frame and truss plants. The repetitious nature of the design in many multi-residential projects provides considerable efficiencies as the project progresses and the teams are more familiar with the way the building structure is assembled on site.
