XLam is a manufacturer of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), which are engineered timber panels used as floors, roofs and walls. We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven Technical Sales Representative to drive our sales efforts primarily in Melbourne, with occasional travel to other regions as required.
We seek an experienced, confident CAD Detailer to join our drawing team. You will liaise with clients to develop 2D and 3D shop floor drawings for CNC machining. This is a full time permanent position based at our central Melbourne design office. Successful applicants will potentially be required to travel periodically to our facilities in both Wodonga and Nelson, New Zealand, as part of their role.
This position is critical in ensuring breakdowns have a minimum effect on production. You will be responsible for engineering repairs to plant and timber processing equipment, including CNC and conveyor systems as well as support of the site’s maintenance planning systems development and improvement. You will support the development of maintenance planning and preventative maintenance systems development.
The plant operates a 2x10 production shift process currently. As demands continue to increase expectations are that current shift hours may increase, thus shift flexibility will be required.
Reporting to the General Manager – Production you will be responsible for driving preventative maintenance and other projects and developing and implementing the R&M strategy for the site. You will devise and implement reliability improvement strategies and practices through the analysis of key performance indicators as you manage staff to meet expected performance using coaching, delegation and recognition.
You will help define targets, monitor performance, safety and quality complying with the company’s minimum standard procedures. You will also drive change management and continuing on the path of preventative maintenance and reducing machine downtime
You must be a qualified and experienced CNC Operator to be able to plan, programme, set up and deliver each job. You will also have a wide range of other responsibilities including maintaining good safety, maintenance and communications with all other staff. This is a dynamic position as the organisation is on a significant growth curve and duties and responsibilities will evolve over time.
